If you have not known it yet, Apple withdrew its support for Google applications as Google become their primary competition. With the ongoing comparison of the iOS line of operating systems against Android, Apple decided to remove all of its applications that are Google powered. These would have to include YouTube, and of course, the Google Map.
Now that the iPhone 5 has been released, it no longer bears the Google Maps as one of its applications. Apple now has its own innovative map to cater the same kind of assistance for finding locations and directions. However, knowing that both serve the same purpose, it can never be helped that there will always be comparisons. So, it is good to take both maps in closer look.
The Google Map has already been proven to work for years of usage by so many mobile map users. As compared to the Apple Map that has just been released along with the iPhone 5, things are still going to be under some tests. The same in purpose and feature, you can still cite the significant differences found in each maps.
Just recently, reports were made by so many iOS 6 users that their Apple map is inaccurate. These inaccuracies are pointing to London being found in Ontario, Canada and not in England. There were also reports that some buildings and bridges look distorted as opposed to how they should be. These are inaccuracies in addition to Google Map?s advantage over information provision. This is no surprise since Google has more to integrate with mapping.
It is reasonable to point out that the Apple map is still under the process of constant innovation. So, to ask if the use of this map is worth all the risks would be too early for anyone to do so.
